When you pick up your vehicle, we collect the full cost of the rental and a security deposit. The amount of the deposit is equal to the full amount of your rental fee. Once you return the vehicle, we will refund your security deposit in full, unless there are additional unplanned charges – such as fuel replacement, vehicle damage or a late return.
What if I return my vehicle late?
For rentals returned after the contracted return date, you will be subject to an additional day charge at 120% of the going daily rate.
What is your cancellation policy?
You may cancel up to 48 hours in advance of your designated pick-up time without penalty. If you cancel within 48 hours of your pick-up time, we will assess a $75 fee.
Will my credit/debit card be charged when I make the reservation?
No, but the card will have a hold placed on it at the time of pickup. Please check the terms and conditions on your rental agreement for the dollar amount required. Upon your return of the vehicle, all holds will be released, and the actual cost of the rental will be charged. Please note that your bank may take up to two weeks to post the released credit hold to your card. Unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for any returned checks due to credit hold processing.
How is my rental rate calculated?
Your total rental rate is calculated based on the information provided at time of reservation. Quoted total rate will include any options you select during the reservation process. Our helpful rental agents will review all charges with you to ensure that your total charges meet with your approval when you pick up and return your vehicle.
What should I do if I’m involved in an accident with a Baker Automotive Rental Vehicle?
First, contact the police (911). Next, contact our rental office at 843-377-1220. Then, contact your personal auto insurance company and establish a claim for the damage. Lastly, make sure to complete a Baker Automotive Rentals Accident/Incident Report providing as much information as possible for us to complete our claims process.
I purchased coverage. Do I still need to fill out an accident report?
Regardless of purchasing coverage, an accident report needs to be filled out.
My insurance company paid the claim, so why are you sending me a letter requesting the remaining balance?
In most cases, the balance due represents the uninsured elements of the claim such as your deductible, Loss of Use and Administration Fees.
Does the dollar amount on my online reservation include all charges?
We work very hard to include all fees you will be charged, however, your rates may not include insurance, taxes or any city/country/state/federal surcharges applied to vehicle rentals.

A Baker Automotive Rentals Customer Service Agent will be happy to help you with your rental needs. Please note that some modifications to your rental information may subject your rental to rate changes.
- Canceling a Reservation
- Please call Baker Automotive Rentals at 843-377-1220. Please call at least 48 hours before your pickup time to avoid a $75 cancellation fee. They will require the reference number you were provided in your confirmation email in order to cancel your reservation.
