Helene impacted our family. We came to Charleston to stay with family. And on top of flooding and loss of electricity back at home, we rolled into town and our car decided to have error messages all over the dash.Thanks to Cindy and Bryce, I was able to get a reasonable and reliable rental car. Let’s not fail to mention that Ricky took care of us as we needed the car assessed and the service folks took care of us. Thank you Baker Automotive!

I went to my son Bryce McCullough to rent a car for Friday morning due to have car trouble and when my husband and I got there, they were without power. He offered us coffee and water, then power came back on only lasting a few minutes it went lime for a little while and then he managed to print the contract out at a different location and we did a walk through the car and then I was on my way. I would recommend renting from Baker to everyone. I will definitely rent from them again.

BETTER PRICES AND BETTER SERVICE than competitors. I had two car companies cancel on me (enterprise and turo) and Bakers saved the day and saved me money in the end. Cindy was unbelievably helpful and handled a last minute request like I’d booked in advanced. First phone call she concisely and clearly told me everything I would need to finalize the booking and viola the next day I had the exact car I signed up for. It was new, nice, and very reasonably priced. Oh and incredibly clean! They didn’t have a bunch of hidden fees like those others will (especially turo). They had a refundable security deposit, and amazing customer service. Can’t get over how easy and pleasant they were to work with while I was stressing about traveling. I would only use them from now on out.

Bryce was excellent at explaining contract and pointing out features of car that I rented. He was responsive to any questions or messages and had the car ready the same day. A long time user of another well known. auto rental vendor, I would go to Baker first now.

Bryce was so kind and helpful when I needed a rental after my car broke down. I really felt he was doing everything he could to help me out and it made a very stressful situation a little bit easier. It was just as easy and pleasant returning the rental to Cindy at the end. The van was great but the staff really made this a place I would come back to and recommend.

FAQ

For rentals returned after the contracted return date, you will be subject to an additional day charge at 120% of the going daily rate.

You may cancel up to 48 hours in advance of your designated pick-up time without penalty. If you cancel within 48 hours of your pick-up time, we will assess a $75 fee.

No, but the card will have a hold placed on it at the time of pickup. Please check the terms and conditions on your rental agreement for the dollar amount required. Upon your return of the vehicle, all holds will be released, and the actual cost of the rental will be charged. Please note that your bank may take up to two weeks to post the released credit hold to your card. Unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for any returned checks due to credit hold processing.

Your total rental rate is calculated based on the information provided at time of reservation. Quoted total rate will include any options you select during the reservation process. Our helpful rental agents will review all charges with you to ensure that your total charges meet with your approval when you pick up and return your vehicle.

First, contact the police (911). Next, contact our rental office at 843-377-1220. Then, contact your personal auto insurance company and establish a claim for the damage. Lastly, make sure to complete a Baker Automotive Rentals Accident/Incident Report providing as much information as possible for us to complete our claims process.

Regardless of purchasing coverage, an accident report needs to be filled out.

In most cases, the balance due represents the uninsured elements of the claim such as your deductible, Loss of Use and Administration Fees.

We work very hard to include all fees you will be charged, however, your rates may not include insurance, taxes or any city/country/state/federal surcharges applied to vehicle rentals.

    • To modify your on-line reservation or update any information we have for you in our system, please contact us at 843-377-1220. A Baker Automotive Rentals Customer Service Agent will be happy to help you with your rental needs. Please note that some modifications to your rental information may subject your rental to rate changes.
  • Canceling a Reservation
    • Please call Baker Automotive Rentals at 843-377-1220. Please call at least 48 hours before your pickup time to avoid a $75 cancellation fee. They will require the reference number you were provided in your confirmation email in order to cancel your reservation.
